Cox HealthPlans Community Outreach

Located in the Heart of the Ozarks, Cox HealthPlans is actively involved in the community. We are always looking for opportunities to give back to those in need, while partnering with organizations who share our commitment of serving those close to home. We are happy to share our experiences in hopes of inspiring others to do the same.

11/7/09 – It is estimate that one hour of volunteer time helps provide 105 meals to those in need. With this in mind, Cox HealthPlans’ employees and family members recently volunteered time at the Ozarks Food Harvest. The majority of our volunteers spent Saturday in the sorting room helping process food received from food drives and donations. Our group of volunteers worked through nearly 4000 lbs of food, while our other volunteers packaged all of the materials that will be distributed to local stores for the “Check Out Hunger” initiative during this holiday season.

 

11/14/2009 - November 14, 2009 marked another productive day for Cox HealthPlans' employees and family members. It is estimated that our team sorted and box nearly 9,000 lbs of food in four hours, which is a new record at the Ozarks Food Harvest. Although the work was tiring, everyone was thrilled to help those in need! We challenge others to do the same!

12/3/2009 - Cox HealthPlans' employees donated $600 to the Operation Hero, "Shoebox for Soldiers" campaign. This money will be used to pay for shipping the boxes to our heroes who won't be able to spend the holidays with friends and family. We believe this is a worthy cause and are happy to make Christmas special for those who sacrifice their lives for our freedom and safety!

12/11/09 - Our employees are always so generous to those who need a little extra help, and this holiday season was no different. Our employees collected numerous toys to support the 10,000 Toys For Christmas initiative!
